nyc - may 2013
canon gave me one of their brand new powershot n cameras last week and asked me to shoot around the city for an afternoon as part of the #powershotbeready campaign. since canon is my brand and i’m a camera geek - it was a no brainer to check it out, especially since it had wifi built in for sharing to twitter / instagram / etc.
while the camera isn’t perfect for me - i have big hands and it’s a little small + am personally used to shooting w/ a 5dmk3 - a workhorse that pretty much kills it from iso100 to iso10000 - it was certainly fascinating to play around with what is clearly on the leading edge of technology when it comes to wireless sharing.

spent a few days in rome last week working with www.romanculture.org at the 3rd annual unlisted conference. was a great time filled with lots of great sights and conversations about how social media can be best utilized to promote cultural heritage sites by raising awareness and visibility.

Hey, with what app do you take such pictures?
you mean these photos here? no apps - all (well mostly - 95%) dslr here….if you mean instagram - it’s a wide variety depending on what the situation calls for. i like snapseed, vsco and afterlight for editing the iphone photos.

absolutely love your work man. Any advice when it comes to shooting portraits? Thanks!
take your time, make the other person feel comfortable, make sure the eyes are in focus, find a good indirect light, have a plan and execute it.
