someone once said to me that rome was a city best experienced in the details rather than the panorama. on my last day, i took out the 135mm and shot some interesting details around my apartment.

was invited on a press trip to the cannes film festival by the fine folks at chivas regal - was an amazing whirlwind of a trip….i left nyc at 4pm, arrived in paris at 5:30am and caught a connecting flight to nice for a 9am arrival.
by 10:30 was at the amazing hotel martinez, where i met the team and then wandered around the beach for a few hours before catching a couple hours of sleep. later that day, the invited guests were given the chivas salon experience (side note, i clearly need a dedicated beard trimmer upper to be on beck and call at all times). afterward we went to the premier of the new alexander payne movie, nebraska - where we got to walk the red carpet - and be snarled at by the paparazzi for not being important enough.
after movie we had an amazing dinner back at the hotel and then went out to a few different parties. the next day, we were treated to delicious breakfast on the chivas yacht and then we took a smaller boat out to explore - the south of france is so amazingly beautiful - def need to find a way back there sometime.
after a relaxing afternoon, i was flown back to nice in a helicopter (ok, real talk, the helicopter ride was amazing - first time and it was such a crazy thing - so tiny and so fast :)

canon gave me one of their brand new powershot n cameras last week and asked me to shoot around the city for an afternoon as part of the #powershotbeready campaign. since canon is my brand and i’m a camera geek - it was a no brainer to check it out, especially since it had wifi built in for sharing to twitter / instagram / etc.
while the camera isn’t perfect for me - i have big hands and it’s a little small + am personally used to shooting w/ a 5dmk3 - a workhorse that pretty much kills it from iso100 to iso10000 - it was certainly fascinating to play around with what is clearly on the leading edge of technology when it comes to wireless sharing.
